Happiness
Happiness
Someday the clouds will part,
and the waves will cease to roar.
On that day I'll walk to you,
in a park by the water,
with a pretty white bench by the pond's edge.
There I'll sit and wait for you,
dressed in something yellow,
the color of happiness.
I'll have a ribbon in my untamed hair;
my bare feet will be tickled by the overgrown grass.
A butterfly will keep me company,
all yellow and blue and green.
He will smile at me and sit in my hand
and say "Tell your friend hello for me."
As if he's been in my place before...
waiting.
