We were happy once
Then you changed
You beat me
You yelled at me
You watched tears roll down my face
The blood from my wounds
Stained on our snow white carpet
I screamed
You laughed
I ran for salvation
You chased me to kill me
On a cliff
You caught up to me
Now you stand in front of me
Like a frightening tower
You yelled “I will kill you!”
You pulled out a knife
I screamed and fell to the ground
You drew closer
Light reflected off the blade above your head
Tears roll and I push
Your eyes widen with fear as you fall to your doom
Your screams disappeared in the deep canyon
I cried and realized
I’m free of you
Though you don’t deserve it
I throw a rose into the canyon one year later
I whisper “Goodbye” and cry

The author's comments:
I wrote this piece because it can show how horrible people can be and that they're not always who you think they are. I want to show the fear and the pain that can come if you don't break free of a bad relationship quickly and that you aren't always as weak as someone sayd that you are.
