The Bad Man

October 13, 2008

Welcome to my dream
My world
Twisting and turning about
A skewed Reality before my eyes
Dancing rainbows
Clouds reaching down like ugly fingers
Scooping up the lucky few,
to be held before God’s loving eyes
Judging.
Silence.
All is dead.
The bad man is here
He is everywhere
He is the all-hating alcoholic
Drunk on Wasted time
With a wife he can’t stand and kids he never wanted
Throwing his bottle at the sky
He curses the Heavens
Rainbows screaming
All is dead.

bad man is possibly the worst choice for the antagonist of this poem. Something more sly like, alcoholic dun-dee or, jack Hannah, would be a lot better. It would make more people be able to relate to the poem, and therefore, it would allow you too reach a larger audience.
