The ball was hit with mighty force
It soars off the bat like a cow
flying over the moon
the crowd roaring
as the ball keeps going

When it reaches the stands,
the ball suddenly disappears
behind the blue cushiony wall
the crowds excitement intensifies

People in the bleachers can see it
just sitting there
like a pet taking a nap
in the backyard

A black smudged imprint is tattooed
on its face of the formerly white ball
smiling as it found its new home
in the Mets bullpen
