i can leap across the sky
and land in your arms
but never do i try
to bring such harm
i can dive into the sand
and swim to your feet
but i will not create a land
where two oceans cannot meet
i can jump into the river
and drown in your eyes
but i cannot go numb and shiver
with hollow tears from your cries
i cannot be a world apart
and still together we will be
for i can only damage your heart
and be the basis of your misery
