Wishing Back Eternal Sunshine

When the world was young it was old
With the moonlit night it grew bright
With the blazing sun it grew dim
My dreams are afflicted
With the thoughts of you
When I was old I wished to be young
Now that I am young I wish to be old
My hands are rough yet my heart is fragile
Wings of butterfly are stunningly dull
Wings of a moth are frightfully bright
I tend to be smart when ignorance is needed
My stupidity leads me, as a jester off a cliff
I shall not fall but gently saunter
All the way downward
My wings are too heavy
I think I'll just drown
My mind is growing dim
But you shine on through
Please come and save me, so that I may save you
Once I was a baby now I'm a corpse
Come into this rabbit hole
I dare you to study my mind
You'll see only copies of the real you
My hopes, my dreams, my fantasies
My thoughts
Are all mine
Are all you

Eric has figured out at a young age not to wish his life away, but to enjoy what he has now, especially his youth and the wonder of discovering his talents and interests. Many people do not realize this until it is too late and they have wished their lives away. Eric puts his thoughts into contrasting images we can all relate to and understand. Eric should continue to develop his writing talent and see where it may take him.
