Nothing is as it seems

Once I walked upon that road
A trail that led towards a grove
So tattered by the unseen eye
That wilderness it seemed.

The traitors pushed aside their green
When autumn blew aside summer’s lust
And left behind a wilderness
So torn it seemed.

An enemy winter became
And anger still was further flamed
To devastate oblivion
So total its destruction seemed.

Along the way I finally saw
That spring seduced winter to fall
And blooming flowers came to pass
Into that grove at long last.

And so upon that road I walked
A trail towards that untamed grove
So lovely it all was to me
…. Or so it seemed
