Before and After

October 10, 2008
By Cass Rice, Eureka, MT

There is a before and a after but nothing between,
That sudden breath that begged to be seen,
Everything was gone before the neglect,
It all made sense the “cause and effect”,
Something so strong, with someone so weak,
Bound together so tight but tangled so neat,
As knots came un-done, as the real colors shined,
Before was my After yet better defined.
