She stared at me,
Waiting for a salutation so she could run.
Instead, I stared.
Her freckles were lightly dusted, like dew on the grass.
Her eyes were so blue they reflected back my insecurities.
She stared back, almost certainly seeing me as I am.
Clothes that didn’t fit,
Too big glasses,
And an absence of freckles.
Instead of waiting, I ran
until my heart pounded,
Until I could hardly breathe.
She caught up to me
And smiled.
She took my hand
And we ran together.
I hope we never stop.

The ending was so cute! I also loved the descriptions you used, I could really visualize the scene in my head.
