The Epic Tale of Jimmy
Jimmy woke up that day as the sun came through his window
That day would be a bad day, but there’s no way he could know
He got up, put on pants, a shirt and looked good at a glance
Then changed his mind and wore lucky Spider-Man underpants
The morning went very well until nature made a call
With a raise of his hand, he left and went quickly down the hall
He took fast steps at a very determined urgent pace
Finally he came to that oh so necessary place
Business as usual could describe what then did occur
Most children would skip the sink but Jimmy didn’t deter
He took soap, lathered both of his hands and turned on the tap
Unfortunately for him the white sink was a death trap
Water shot out and sprayed Jimmy right in between the legs
“It’s not what it looks like” won’t work even if he begs
Lucky briefs didn’t help him as he looked around the room
Nor could Spider-man save him from his fast impending doom
A hard resolution came painfully into his head
He must accept his predicament and forget the dread
He must prepare for the taunting that was sure to ensue
To hold his head high is what Jimmy decided to do
He marched down the hallway with real confidence in his gait
The courage he had as he walked was a most useful trait
“Hey everyone, I wet my pants” he lied through his teeth
Without trying to hide Jimmy could lessen the grief
No one had turned around and no one could be bothered to care
Jimmy just stayed by the door and could only stand and stare
The children laughed, cried, and chuckled until their sides were sore
Because the teacher’s chair had broke and she fell to the floor
At the same time a few show and tell pets had gotten free
Two rats stepped across the ground and children wanted to flee
The principal and janitor were called amongst the yells
The startled class wasn’t settled until the recess bells
Jimmy had escaped and hid till his pants dried in the sun
Not much more happened after recess and soon the day was done
You could say Jimmy’s escape was luck and only by chance
He’d just smile and say “lucky Spider-Man underpants.”
