Summer Memories
As the beach and bathing season were coming to an end,
I had wanted one more day in the sun with my good friend.
We strolled along the beach looking for different kinds of shells.
When of in the distance we heard the sounds of wedding bells.
It was such a lovely day with the sky so high and blue.
It's hard to imagine summers ending but it is true.
No more staying up late or going swimming in my pool.
I couldn't believe that I was going off to high school.
As we stood along the shore, staring out in the ocean;
We saw a big boat drifting by with a rocking motion.
It lookeed like they were probably fishing maybe for some fluke.
My friend said that she can't stand boats because they make her puke.
We stood there side by side laughing so hard we almost cried.
Neither one of us had noticed our skin was red and fried.
It is so much fun being carefree just being a teen.
Next year when we come down the shore we'll have to use sunscreen.
So then we went boogie boarding in the cool deep blue sea.
While in there people yelled shark, so we had to quickly flee.
We went to go play a game with my loving family,
As we played, we were goofing around and being silly.
We listened to music and danced in the relaxing sand.
The pier next to us had some entertainment like a band.
It was a band I really love listening and singing to.
Right then I knew I had to meet them so away I flew.
Along the way I fell and got some bumps, scrapes, and bruises.
My friend was laughing at me and said last one there loses.
I was real excited to meet the musicians at last.
Getting the whole band's autograph would be the biggest blast!
By the time I got there the music had stopped already.
With my luck I saw a friendly face, my cousin Eddie.
He said the whole time the music was a cassette playing.
My friend and I were so mad that we were yelling and screaming.
That moment just ruined the most wonderful and best day.
We caused such a scene that people asked if we were okay.
Bummer, now I have to wait for the band to go on tour.
To make a bad day worse it started to really down pour.
