Friday Blues
It was Friday after school and I had gotten homework!/
If I do my homework I will be a really big dork!/
If I go outside I will be the only one who failed./
So I did my homework while looking over today's mail./
I worked hard and swift to do my absolute very best./
I would continue to work and stuggle to do the rest./
I finished the first paragraph in my black notebook./
While I played online chess and took his queen with my rook./
Paragraph two here I come! Now I won't look very dumb!/
Periods, indents, colons, and commas here I come!/
I work harder and faster before it becomes too dark./
Ha! Who will be laughing now when I show up to the park?/
Paragraph three, it is now all up to only you and me./
Paragraph three, I really don't think it was meant to be./
I touched my pen to paper and wrote as fast as I could./
I will really make it to the school park! I really would!/
Paragraph four here I come! Dum de dum de dum de dum!/
I still wrote out of determination, not out of fun!/
Paragraph four is done! Paragraph five is now all mine!/
Where do I start paragraph five? Anywhere on the line?/
Paragraph five has suffered defeat! It is now complete!/
Unfortunately, paragraph five is not very neat!/
I zip up my jacket and make a run for the front door./
Sadly, to my misfortune, the afternoon was no more./
Why had I been so late? Maybe I can still get dating!/
I had called my girlfriend to be greeted by call waiting./
The day was forever lost, unable to be salvaged./
My homework is done though so I will have an advantage!/
Tomorrow, Saturday, is nearing ever so slowly./
For tomorrow, the park will be all mine! Holey Moley!/
I'll play basketball and football 'til my heart is content./
Having fun on a Saturday is how it should be spent.
