The Midnight Melody

October 7, 2008

As the pouring rain thunders against the ground
I stare out the window
Wishing for our midnight rendezvous to come sooner
I'm craving every moment that i've ever spent with you
To be together again, i wish dearly.
Your hand running softly along my face
is my constant saving grace.
At your touch, sparks fly between us
Sweet secrets once as soft as a whisper
now pound as loudly as the rain on the window
We wait 'till night to dance under the eaves of twilight
The stars the harmony to our melody.

There is more than one inspiration for this poem. The first, and the main inspiration, is being away from someone you love and just waiting for a time when you KNOW you will be with them. My second inspiration would be Twilight. I would like to share partial credit of this poem to my dear friend Isaac.
