"The things I cherish most are the things that haunt me, without them I am weak."
Written By: Me

I don't have demons
I only have angels.
I try not to look to the
bottom of a bottle to
try and save myself.
If you're asking or
even wanting to know
I look to my past to
help fix my present.
Screw the future
I might not even have one.

I'm stuck in a hole
with no where to go,
drowning myself
just hoping to let go.
I'm afraid to close my
eyes, afraid they won't open.
Not so sure that I will be accepted.
So, I wrap my knees with my arms
in a dark corner.
Wanting everything to leave me alone.
Knowing that it won't,
I guess I will just stay here.

I'm dead on the inside,
yet no one knows.
I'm good at hiding because
it's all I've ever known.
“Are you okay?” they ask.
But the question to be asked
is do they really care.
I guess not cause they were never
really there.

I'm done with this game.
This game I never win.
I'm ready to quit.
The last thing I see
is the last thing I want.

You can't expect me to be happy.
When I'm in this deep
and your up that high.
To stand here saying congrats.
I'm glad you have the balls.

They wonder if I mean what
I say.
They wonder if I want
what I want.
Do what I do
Say what I say.
But they will never know
because they will never give a s***.

Maybe if I died
they would recognize me.
Probably not cause I'm
not rememberable.
I'm invisible, but that okay.
Because I hate being seen,
hiding gives me even more
reason to hate why I live.

I'm not happy.
But I learn to take it.
The names, the hits, the
spit, and the lip.
I may cry and I may ball up,
but what I go through makes me
strong in will.

Because of them I'm
going to become great.
I swear I'm going to change
the world. Not today
or the next, but someday.

One day I am going to be
able to look at the people
who doubted me and say,
“I am up here on a stage,
while you guys are in the crowd.”
I will stand tall
and stand up to everyone
who comes between me and my
dream.
I will not however regret anything.

You'll see me later in life
and wonder why I'm up here, and
you're down there.
Should've kept your mouth shut
and just left me alone.
Then maybe like me
you could've grown strong.

You wonder how I did it.
How I made it to the top.
This is how I made it:

Bruised and broken I crawled.
Scarred and rugged I made it through.
I made it. And you think it's due to you.
No I did it on my own, no thanks to you.

I've been broken down to
a bloody nothing.
Scarred for life, forced to suffer.
But for some reason
I don't care and it doesn't matter.
Because though I went through
all of this I choose to raise my banner
in an effort to fight.

This banner says, “I'm
different, yet I belong.”

A famous person once said, “ the burdens you carry are no bigger than your voice of reason.”
Just because you feel like giving up, just remember that there are people like me that are willing to help you through we just need your hand.

I wrote this for one of my good friends. She has had times where she feels like ending her pain.
