"And in the end, we're just humans, drunk on the idea that love, and only love can cure our brokenness."

Trial by light, an attack

Engulfed in darkness

The midnight black

Strength of rope, a lack

Falling through blackness

Trial by light, an attack

Her mind, a useless hack

fading through forgiveness

the midnight black

The stars in the sky, no track

dissolving, her helplessness

trial by light, an attack

Her skills, a faithful knack

yet they fade to nothingness

the midnight black

Stop walking, look back

but it vanished, her alertness

Trial by light, an attack

A disturbance, go back

But she slipped in ignorance

Trial by light, an attack

The midnight black

This is a villanelle, a poem that has very strict rules. I just wanted to test it out, so I did this. And I think it came out good.
