Favorite Quote:
“What man calls civilization always results in deserts. Man is never on the square – he uses up the fat and greenery of the earth. Each generation wastes a little more of the future with greed and lust for riches.” -- Don Marquis

The ferocious thud of violent rains
Pound the ground and the window panes

Announcing their arrival, loud and bold
Shaking up the sky and letting the fury unfold

They descend upon the cowering trees
As they thrash about and scream out their silent pleas

The animals hide in the dense safety of the forest
Guarded from the harm of the passing tempest

Silence comes in, trailing behind the storm
Smothering and pushing us towards the norm

All that’s left is a path of destruction in its wake
Only proof that the disturbance was anything but fake

I like writing poetry about rain, I've written another piece called Raining Beauty. In my poems I try to capture rain in a different light. If you have any suggestion on how to improve my pieces, please comment, and rate as well!!
