I have learned
To trust only myself
To not rely
On anybody else
When I should run
And hide away
When to fight
And when to stay
To keep control
And not fight back
To push myself
Where I can’t lack
To take both sides
And close my eyes
To find my way
Through night and day
To disappear
To seem to care
To fake a smile
To fade a while
To come on strong
And to belong
To fairly cheat
To part and meet
To quench my thirst
To come in first
To ease my fears
Of shedding tears
To hope with might
To lead with sight
To look ahead
Hear what’s unsaid
To tame my hands
To meet demands
To rise above
False pride and love
To build a wall
To stand up tall
To spread my wings
And take my fate
And not to bear
Another’s weight
