"Failure is the best teacher."

I traverse the world alone,
With broken wings,
Wearing a coat;
Of shattered hearts and dreams,
I searched the world,
For all it's past and present,
But couldn't find what used to be mine,
It made my eyes shine,
My own sunshine,
And now,
I am left dazed and confused,
Looking around asking;
"Oh Hope! Where art thou?"
You left me here,
At the precipice of what could be,
Of me;
A child trying to fulfill,
His futile dream.

The author's comments:
This is inspired from a story about a child I once read; an amazing prodigy he was but all the pressure of expectations got to him and he lost focus...he lost hope to do something.

I like the idea and the manner in which you conveyed it. Beautiful :)
