I Don't Want to Hurt You
Lately at every swear word I clench my teeth
When he steals time from us, I secretly call him a thief
Every little snap and look that he gives me
I just want to explode completely
But I don’t want that to hurt you
I don’t want my anger to pain you
I don’t want you to cry to
I don’t want my anger to come back to you
So tonight when everything was laid out
I don’t want you to be upset and doubt
Doubt my love for you
I love you so much, I really do
I don’t want to fight or take little things to extremes
I want to be able to step back and contemplate the scene
I want to cry, but I don’t want you to hear me
I want you close, but I don’t want you to see through me
I want you to know my feelings, but not so much that they hurt you
I just want everything to work out without giving you pain too
