The wind feels soft
As it brushes along my face
Bringing the cool,
Brisk feeling of fall
My mind is set
Today is the day
The leaves start to fall
Swaying back and forth
Slowly and quietly
As my thoughts start to change
The darkness fades
Today is the day
Not a word is spoken
To stop the empty
Desolate silence
And then it happens
Today is the day
