By Allison Longgood, Kokomo, IN

My heart grieves in his absence,
Climbs into my throat.
Makes my eyes sting,
Creates tears longing to be set free.

My mind strays often,
Refuses to believe he is not near,
Holds thoughts of one kind,
Thoughts of only him.

In true love's absence,
My heart grieves,
My mind strays,
I am broken.
