The blind woman was naïve throughout life,
His words never seemed to bother her.
She laughed when he called her a liar!
She smiled when he started fights with her about every decision she made!
She loved when he held her and said “I love you”!

The blind woman walked through life,
Not realizing she was the target.
The target of hate: insulting and swearing at her to her face!
The target of abuse: the words he used to destroy her!
The target of pain: maybe she wasn’t good enough!

The blind woman began to realize what was happening in life,
Now the past four years all made sense to her.
She was done!
She had had enough!
She made it stop and told him goodbye!

I was that blind woman.

This poem is a true story about my old best friend. He was verbally and emotionally abusive to me. Becareful who you choose to become friends with. Also, dont stick around if you are no longer happy.
