A Passion in the Desert

Endless red sand dunes
Threaten essence of time
Infinite red sky
Hover above heated terrain
Blazing hot sun
Unmerciful
Wisps of white clouds
Blown by sun-driven winds
Dust particles
Whirled by storms
No life
No hope

Across this wasteland
Lives a lonely cactus
Its only friend
A chameleon
Small creature sleeps upon
Crispy, spiky projections
Eternally dormant
Rarely provoked
By a love-passionate soul
Its tears
If collected
Healing
Cures a broken heart

Chameleon
Cannot leave cactus
Cactus
Cannot leave desert
Brave souls
Love-driven
Have crossed harsh desert
Never feeling hardships
Having found
True love
At the end.
