A Gathering of the Multitude

September 10, 2008

On this maddened exuberant American Night,
We of the multitude gather here in the seeking of our unburdening
We new spiritual seekers of the tempered seas
We come here now to relinquish our collective, impassioned madness
For all things shallow and tasteless

We, the artists, have coalesced humble upon this common
For the seeking of our freeing
(Souls of the many undulate in open celebration, many colors)

(A thousand lizards break the soil, they move

in slow synchronized crawl

towards an elemental source, now vanishing.)

We, the scholars, arriving many from strange lands
Gather now upon solitary sacred common
In the seeking of truthful salvation of the mind
