Teachers Playing God
Teachers like to play God
To sit up on their lofty spinning chairs
And ramble off a series of phrases
With booming voices, demanding respect
Wisdom that cannot be denied
But can be interrupted
Only by the attendance sheet of course.
And Suzy, caught chewing gum again
AGAINST THE RULES
SPIT IT OUT
A judgment you might say
If the teacher really was God
Suzy might be a little more worried
There would truly be hell to pay
Instead of just after school detention
A truly empty threat
…In the scheme of things.
