Rare July breezes.
Running down to the lake
splashing waters,
and boat engines running.
Countless memories to be made.

Summertime sounds.

Speakers booming,
driving all around,
yet going nowhere.
Speeding cars and laughter.

Summertime sounds.

Bonfire’s take up the night.
The crackling firewood
putting everyone into a trance.

Summertime sounds.

Cicadas and birds chirping all through the night.
Sleep comes when the sun starts to rise.

This is an imitation poem. I am imitating Nocturnal Sounds by Kattie M. Cumbo
