Chasing Clouds

September 2, 2008
By Haley Johnston, Lebanon, PA

Growing up, chasing clouds,
impossible to catch,
like chasing dreams we know are vain,
for them, we are no match.

Living life, dodging storm,
that rumble overhead,
like facing problems everyday,
not fearing them instead.

Aiming high, ride the wind,
until it slows then ends,
don't underestimate your life,
or future's twists and bends.

Holding on, search the skies,
for planes and UFOs,
laying back, relaxing,
intent how fast time goes.

Letting go, passing clouds,
on wind through skies of stars,
not stopping till the Golden Gates,
to the Heaven we call ours.
