Ghost Lane

September 1, 2008
By Samuel Romano, Sauquoit, NY

I walk down the street
Unbroken, Unfazed
The houses
Lined up like soldiers
Seem to sway with the trees
The windows are broken
Empty and cold
Leaves rustle beneath my feet
Cracking and Snapping
Wind howls and screams
As it rips through the air
Silence brings only fear
