A Pop of Hypocrisy
Don't you go assuming things about my generation
Because, when looking in retrospect, you'll realize you
Neglected
the idealists, and these realists
And all the in-between-ists
Just to get your point across, your opinion's flossing
the teeth of the majority
Our abnormality
Is cast aside, while the judge of society resides
in hiding
We're fighting
for our voices to be heard
Every word we say cannot be screamed
So to be redeemed for your transgressions
Why don't you take some psychology sessions
and get rid of your egotistical issues?
We'll keep the rhythm in our eyes
And watch the fire die inside
All these posers, all the liars
So much for these 'inner fires'
Who the hell are you to say that I'm not to be?
Can't you see, can't you re
Organize your morals among all these floral
scents and sounds, all these skins of fool's gold
I'm not a liquid to be molded
I'm a kid to ignore what she's told
Too bold
Because I've got nothing to debate
Except when you postulate
About my tendency to question your
Ascendency to the top
Intelligence is the intransigence
Thanks to all your negligence
Rules are being rewritten
And you'll be thrown to the ground, smitten
with our smiles and smirks and our lurking bile
Reproduction of our worst memories
All our independent stories being sold for millions
We're in the dice game yet to be rolled
Snake-eyes, fake-eyes, we're the ones to trust
We're not going to fall in love with your incessant lust
We're not to be persuaded
Nor will we be aided
by the in-home resident of repentance
Because we got this one
In the bag, tied hands behind our backs
Tried to say the bands were screaming with too much heart
In their throats, too much in their intestinal parts
And not enough in their heads, their minds
We don't need none of your kind
