No Time To Say Goodbye

September 4, 2008

You were a dad
You were a husband
You were a friend
You were everything

But now you’re gone
Pulled away like a boat at sea
What were you thinking?
Just one bullet

One bullet
That’s all it took
But now you’re gone
Pulled away from our grasp

I never got to say goodbye
Just one simple goodbye
The tears run down my face
Every time I think about you

But now you’re gone
You widowed your wife
Left your kids without a father
But we will always remember you

Your cheerful smile
Your joyful laugh
The way your eyes twinkled when you were happy
We will always remember you

Because we love you
