Stand beside the train tracks
A beautiful setting
Yet, so tragic.
A land of rejected beauty
Flowers strewn beside the weeds
And yet a connection forms
For the sky sees no difference
Amongst its land.
It’s children.


The author's comments:
The ideas of the Transcendentalist movement inspired my poem. I would like people to read it, and not only relate the ideas to nature, but to all humans they will meet in life.
