By Lindsey Masters, Millersburg, OH

you carry your cell phone close
precious like a baby
it's an escape from
this world that you use so openly

I can see why
you'd want to escape
I feel the same way
I want to hear the escape

I don't have an escape
maybe if I did I could follow you
instead I sit in this world
watching it pass through windows

your sitting right there
but your carries away on radio waves
your voice no more
then a soft buzzing in my ears
yet we share the same window
