Was it worth it?

By
I sat and watched my world fall apart,
and knew I'd be alone at heart.
I'm there to help and guide,
But time after time you'll just push me to the side.

(I hope your happily ever after was worth it)

I was always there to pick up the pieces,
and mend them just for you.
what else was your best friend to do.

(I hope losing me was worth it)

I always knew she was no good,
I watched her trick you (and you never thought she could).
She took my best friend and turned him against me,
all you saw was jealousy.

(I hope your life of lies is worth it)

well, you almost gained a "Mrs." but forever lost a best friend.
To think, i would have actually been there until the end.

(So, was it worth it?)

Wow! You did a really good job on this! I love it! You know, you can make this a song! (unless you already have, of course. Or you don't want to.) but, good job! you're very creative.

There was something really poignant about this. The last line, especially the use of parenthesis, was just so perfect.
