Sisters, Sisters

Sister, Sisters, there they go.
They’re close to us, yet so far.
The end is always the hardest to bear.
One still knows that the other does care.
She comes in the morning, noon, and night
To see the terrible, painful sight.
Lying there with no life
Is like being impaled with a knife.
They say “Time heals all wounds”
But our wounds grow bigger.
Sisters, Sisters, we all can say,
God know how long they must stay.
Mothers of a family born, built, and reborn,
The process goes on.
Pains us to see them suffer this way.
Through young and old.
Fright and bold.
Sisters, Sisters, where’s their glow?
Sisters, Sisters, there they go.
