As odd as it may seem

I seem to want peace, as odd as it may seem
For I know from experience
It’s not what’s expected of me

I seem to hate death, as odd as it may seem
For I know all they see
Is, another murderer in me

I seem to enjoy life, as odd as it may seem
For I know oppressions and injustices
Is, what they see in me

I seem to like fashion, as odd as it may seem
For I know as covered as I am
It’s not what they think of me

I seem to want to travel, as odd as it may seem
For I know they believe
A lock and key on my door must be

Perhaps it is me, as odd as I may be
For I know it is crazy
That I'm not the terrorist they have named me.

I'm a Muslim girl who wears the headscarf, which now a days is basically like wearing a flag for racist comments. The poem is from personal experiences, and situations.
