Wondering

Sweeping memories
Trail my vision
Like willow branches pulled in the wind
I sigh
And it reaches
Far beyond its sound
Wrapping itself to nature
Finding sanctuary at last

A heavy heart wonders
Questioning without answers
They pulse wearily through my veins
Slowly asking
For all to make sense
For peace and certainty
To understand
For right now nothing is clear

Fingertips can still feel warmth
Tactile reminiscence
Of you and of love - partnership
How did the truth in my life
Become this crime
This punishment of tears
Where did you go
And why

I breathe deeply
Hoping happiness can be drawn
Pulled to me
From the vastness of the world
To this one tiny figure
Who carries sadness throughout
And within
Longing for things now lost
