Perfect Catastrophe

You flinch
I try to smile, unconvincingly
You move
I’m forced to follow so unwillingly

I’m kicking and screaming
Pushing and pleading
Pressed against the annex of your breathing world
Beneath a barrier
Inexorable

I am the echo of your enemy
Baring bitter catastrophe
Smothered with perfection
Held captive to your flaws

I search for insignificance
Proof these moments never matter
To my left I see your dreams
Smeared with binding pretenses
Unrelenting to your stolen sovereign soul
Vanquished

I am the echo of your enemy
Baring bitter catastrophe
Smothered with perfection
Held captive to your flaws

To my right I see a mocking vestige of your past
A glimpse fading with each day
Sinking into obliteration
I give in
Patiently waiting to see you again

I’m kicking and screaming
Pushing and pleading
Pressed against the annex of your breathing world
Beneath a barrier
Inexorable

I am the echo of your enemy
Baring bitter catastrophe
Smothered with perfection
Held captive to your flaws

I am the echo of your enemy
Baring bitter catastrophe
Smothered with perfection
Held captive to your flaws

I am the face behind reality a parallel inverse to each day
Flawed with spiteful specks of sunlight
Despondent and so ashamed
I am the echo of your enemy
Baring bitter catastrophe
