April 25th

Prom night
the most important night
of my life
absolute perfection
second only to my wedding day
heels, sparkles, how about a diamond tiara?
and an archway made of roses
as my date kisses me in the moonlight
with violins and fireworks
what is thousands of dollars
for my one night of happiness?
No, nothing short of sheer, utter joy.
I chip a nail or
someone wears the exact same dress as me!
I've had nightmares about that.
My life would be ruined.
I'm glad my entire self-worth depends
on this one glorious event
I might actually have to think about
things that really matter
