Dangling My Feet At The Edge Of The Earth
Tell us all your secrets,
the world is watching with absorbent eyes,
bathing in the flood,
static thoughts,
tangled veins replaced with wires,
captive carnival animals,
captured creations,
this is the self inflicted genocide,
we silently march into flames,
with minds stolen
gnawing on the hand that feeds us lies,
so dance on the ashes, dance on the ashes,
set it all on fire and laugh as is burns.
the wise flee the ruins,
running like cowards from the arsonist smiles,
what are you crying for?
these arms resemble comfort,
holding you gently as you wonder,
if everything is going to be ok,
we follow giants into cities of insects,
crushing their pride with every misguided step,
we run in circles until they are all dead,
our destruction is exposed,
caught on surveillance,
manipulate the evidence,
give the murderer a medal,
and call him heroic.
salesmen with delusions to sell,
trading our lives for gold,
we choke on our ego’s,
and as I gasp for a final breath,
I let my mind wander off,
I dangle my feet at the edge of the earth,
laughing as I close my eyes,
and make love to the open air.
