Methaphorical Epiphany
My love for you
 Is a giraffe—
 Assembled wrong,
 It seems,
 But a beautiful mistake.

 My love for you
 Is toothpaste—
 Rumored to have
 Healing powers,
 But when used,
 Just a sticky mess.

 My love for you
 Is a rainbow—
 Abundant when the skies
 Are crying,
 The treasure at the end
 Never quite
 Within reach.

 My love for you
 Is a pencil,
 The mediator between
 My world and
 The world.

 But giraffes,
 Toothpaste,
 Rainbows,
 And pencils—

 Are a couple of things
 I could live
 Without.
