Dawn

August 11, 2008
By Anonymous

Waking up again the sun stretches high
Lifting out its arms towards the sky
It caresses the greenery all around
And leaves a wet kiss to be found
The trees begin to stretch, shadows to us
Growing and shrinking everyday without fuss
Some flowers open up to greet the morning day
While others stay closed waiting to have their say
Plants soak up the light as the day goes on
Until they are immersed in darkness, waiting for next dawn

The author's comments:
I hope that others can look at the dawn in a new way and the world around them can become more meaningful, more important, so that one step at a time we can save our world.

I have a poem about the sunset too, but it's not on here. I'm debating whether or not to put it on. Once again, thank you so much for your comments!!!!

Wow. Definitely a great poem. I live in the middle of nowhere, so I already appreciate dawn. I have amazing sunsets where i live, but this is a very beautiful poem. I LOVE it. ***** five stars!

This is beautiful Cierra. It makes me appreciate the Dawn even more. It reminds me how special our planet is and how lucky we are to be a part of it. Bryce
