past and future

the past is hard as a rock
the future is as soft as play-do
only breaking when smashed to the ground
you can push and pull it
this rock is never smooth
mold it into what you want to become
always rigid and bumpy
you can play and have fun
many many scratches and bruises
never winning or loosing
this rock was never loved
always happy with the softness
always going from cold to freezing
so many colors to squeeze with joy
my past is a rock
my future will be play-do
