Beloved

Never ever will I forget when my eyes fell upon her.
Her delicate smile ensnaring my heart.
Was this love, if only I could tell.
My soul sang out to her, but did she hear?
Watching from afar as she danced in the moonlit night.
Losing sight of her was my greatest fear.
Oh how splendid she looked in the sapphire dress.
Her tantalizing skin exposed but still so innocent.
As I myself danced with a partner incomparable to her.
I admired her radiant beauty.
I danced, she danced, and with each step and each glide
I became more entranced.
Until I could bear it no longer.
cried out to her in an attempt to claim her.
To capture her heart as she had mine.
That night my greatest fright came to pass.
Oh how I wanted to hold her tight in my arms, and to tell her.
She was loved
Never ever will I forget the night my love left in the arms of another man
Her ruby lips to be pressed against his and not mine.

The line "skin exposed but still so innocent" is the amazing. This is such a good poem.
