Cross Country

February 11, 2008

The days go by
like birds, they fly past.
I can't wait until that time comes
I'm going to hold it and make it last.
The wind rushing through my hair,
brushing against my legs,
running every day
eating raw eggs.
That time will come soon,
I'm at the District meet again.
I've worked so long and so hard to redeem myself,
This year, my team will win.
I refuse to hold back or ever give up.
To my team and coach,
The District Championship is like the World Cup.
We will give our blood, our sweat, oh we will fight.
Are you ready,
We are, and we'll be there at first light.
