Until I Come Up For Air

Until I Come Up for Air:
Lost in the Dark
I fail to see the light.
Lost in my dreary cloud
I fail to see the shining sun.
Lost in the night sky
I fail to see the stars that light a path home.
Lost in my Isolation
I fail to see the hand reaching out to me.
Lost in my solitude
I fail to see the concerned eyes that cry for me.
Lost in my pool of tears
I fail to come up for air.
Lost in my prison cell
I fail to see the unlocked door.
Lost in a pile of shattered mirrors
I fail to see my own reflection.
Lost in the numbness
I fail to see the wounds in plain view.
Lost in self pity
I fail to pity others.
Lost in my grief
I fail to see my petty state.
Lost in a dead garden
I fail to see the only rose.
Lost in my void of shame
I fail to see the arm around me.
Lost in my array of words
I fail to see reality.
Lost in this unkind world
I fail to see what I have become.
