(Pay attention,
Lest time forgets,
Lest they are lost).
The ones seen in matchless detail—
(The sun, just so,
The friends, here,
The memory: a grail).
Are moments that make a being—
(Not nature,
Not nurture,
Not suffering or bleeding).
Take this present: past, be engrossed.
(Only remembrance,
For the future is opaque,
Find the moments that matter the most).
