The girl who hurts
Don’t say you know me
because I can tell you why you don’t
There are million poems inside of me
that I have never wrote
There are million things I’ll never say
no matter how I try
You’ll never see me hurt
and never see me cry
They tell me girls are softer
and ask me why I’m not
I look into their eyes
Seeing fights they have not fought
Tears they have not cried
Mistakes they have not made
Love they have not felt
Feelings they do not hate
And I know that
We are not the same
They see that I am different
But they do not ask me why
Because they see the pain
Reflecting in my eyes
The marks
I used to try to hide
The lie
That once was my life
So quietly they turn
Not knowing what to do
Seeing someone broken
When they have no tools to use
No one knows how to fix
The broken pieces of my soul
So, they do what they can
With what little they know
And when they take a step closer
Or ask a question that goes too deep
They don’t blame me
When I turn and begin running
They watch me quickly go
And wait for me to return
They accept my pain
And love the girl who hurts
