One Word

A picture says a thousand words
But, what is it that says just one?
Is there a word that can summarize me?
A word like studious or fun?
A way to tell me who I am
Who I am in less words that two?
Now, that doesn't make much sense
How can I pick just one and be through?
I'm a very unique person, hence
I don't think I have the ability
To describe myself so easily
After all, it's hard to find one word
That doesn't spell conformity
When every word I decide to use
Has once been used before me
It's like having dynamite without a fuse
It just can't ever be done for me
I can't imagine a way for it to work
It's like trying to tell me that I'm not me
That it's enough to use one word
But, I don't see how that can be.

One word to describe all that is me?
Simply an Impossibility

The author's comments:
I've actually been wanting to write a poem for a while now, and I really like words. So, I started wondering if I could use one word to describe myself, and in the end I couldn't. This poem just happened to evolve from it.

One of my college essays ask me to write about one word that describes me, but I just can't think of one good word. This poem totally explains how I'm feeling.
