A Secret Never Spoken

There was a secret never spoken,
Upon the lips of a sun-scorched day
A bond, a twinge of ardor
To carry words I'd never say

To bring the courage never formed,
The sadness of it all
Until the sky is broken
I'm forced to watch its maul

There was a message never written
The hand's master too anxious to call
Upon the instrument of ink
To reveal and rhyme it all

How long will these words be twisted
How far will I have to go
Before my true emotions knit
This mask I have to sew

There was a truth that was never told,
Instead, the lies began
And all it took was a spy to crush
And shatter who I am
