One. Two. One. Two.
A simple rhythm
That pounds through us
One. Two. One. Two.
Through me, through you.
Two bodies in motion.
In sync. One. Two.
The dance floor is our stage
Just me, just you.
They make such noise,
So quiet, so loud,
“She’s dancing with her
I’ve never seen her dance with any boys.”
They don’t hear that beat.
We don’t care.
One. Two. One. Two.
We still dance, despite all stares.
The world fades away
One. Two. One. Two.
All the whispers stop.
We only hear the beat,
For our hearts are the same.
